Our Story

South Shore Animal Hospital has proudly served the Wantagh, NY community for over 50 years. Founded in the mid-1960s by Dr. Joseph St. Clair, the hospital has remained dedicated to providing exceptional, compassionate veterinary care. In July 1978, Dr. Sheldon Schwarzbrott and Dr. Evan Dribbon continued this mission, guiding the practice’s growth into a trusted, full-service animal hospital offering comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental care.

From its beginnings as a small practice to the thriving hospital it is today, South Shore Animal Hospital has stayed true to its core values of compassion, client education, and excellence, and remains deeply grateful to the families and pets whose trust and loyalty inspire its ongoing legacy of care.
