South Shore Animal Hospital
About Us
Our Story
South Shore Animal Hospital has been a cornerstone of the Wantagh, NY community for over half a century. Our journey began in the mid-1960s when the hospital was founded by Dr. Joseph St. Clair, who envisioned a practice dedicated to providing exceptional veterinary care for the pets and families of our area.
In July 1978, Dr. Sheldon Schwarzbrott and Dr. Evan Dribbon took the reins of the hospital, bringing with them a shared passion for veterinary medicine and a deep commitment to the community. Under their leadership, South Shore Animal Hospital grew into the trusted and well-established practice it is today, known for its comprehensive medical, surgical, and dental services.
Over the years, our hospital has continually evolved to meet the needs of our patients and their families. From a small practice to a bustling hospital staffed by a dedicated team of veterinarians and support staff, we have remained true to our core values: compassionate care, client education, and the pursuit of excellence in veterinary medicine.
As we reflect on our history, we are immensely grateful to the families, friends, and clients who have supported us through the decades. It’s your trust and loyalty that have allowed us to thrive, and it’s your pets who inspire us to do our best every day.
We are proud to be a part of your pet’s journey and look forward to continuing this legacy of care for many years to come. Together, we are building a brighter, healthier future for the pets and families of Wantagh and beyond.
